Some carpets, especially those where pets are present, have a "sour" odor after cleaning that often lingers days after the carpet is dry. This is a bacterial odor that is caused as animal hair becomes a bacterial breeding ground after moisture is introduced in the cleaning process. This rank odor is very difficult to remove with traditional cleaning methods. Spraying the carpet with a clean carpet sanitizer containing Microban and rinsing with clear water appears to be the best remedy for this problem. In fact, it is so effective in solving this problem that many cleaners use it as their primary cleaning product throughout the humid summer weather.

By using a clean carpet sanitizer as the final cleaner after water losses, we can assure the property owner that the carpet is safe to have in the home and will leave the entire home/business/facility smelling fresh.

Green Cleaning Service:

Practical, nontoxic alternatives to standard carpet cleaning products are labeled as "green" cleaning agents. By using environmentally safe chemicals to clean carpets, the cleaner and others at the business or residence are not exposed to toxic chemicals. Also, carpets can be thoroughly cleaned using high temperatures (up to 260 degrees Fahrenheit) and mild chemical agents.

We share our clients growing concern with protecting our environment, and whenever possible Grimefighters uses cleaning products such as the Axion line of products that are formulated to meet or exceed Green Seal and EPA’s Design for the Environment (DfE) program guidelines. Other products we use are fully biodegradable, phosphate-free and VOC compliant.
